University of Cape Coast (UCC) Department of Biomedical Sciences hosts the GhanaAQ project and provides the enabling environment for the project to achieve its objectives.
Ghana EPA is the regulatory body responsible for environmental protection in Ghana, and hence an important partner of the GhanaAQ project. They provide technical support and expertise to the beneficiary districts in the monitoring and control of air pollution.
The Ghana Health Service is a public service body responsible for implementing national health policies under the Ministry of Health. It primarily administers government-provided health services and focuses on equitable, efficient, accessible, and responsive healthcare.
Accra Metropolitan Assembly is the local government authority responsible for the Accra Metropolitan Area. The assembly hosts one of our reference grade monitors at City Hall and serves as a model district for the other beneficiary districts
Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly is the local government authority responsible for the Korle Klottey Municipal Area. The assembly hosts one of our reference grade monitors at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange and serves as a model district for the other beneficiary districts
The Adenta Municipal Assembly is the local government authority responsible for the Adenta Municipal Area. The assembly hosts one of our reference grade monitors on their premises and serves as a model district for the other beneficiary districts.
Clarity Movement provides the GhanaAQ project with state-of-the-art, solar-powered Node-S air quality sensors to monitor air quality in urban Ghana. Clarity provides the necessary technology and technical support needed to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
Blue Wireless provides the GhanaAQ project with IoT sensors and communication technology to help collect and transmit real-time air quality data. This data is important for identifying air pollution hotspots across the city and informing air quality improvement strategies.
AirQo is a Ugandan-based social enterprise that specializes in the development of low-cost air quality monitoring solutions. The organization was established with the aim of addressing the growing problem of air pollution in developing countries.
AfriqAir provides technical support and expertise to the project as well as connecting us to similar initiatives on the continent to learn best practices. They also provide us with a platform through their workshops and conferences for sharing the lessons learnt on the project and best practices
